A groundbreaking ceremony was held on April 6, 2011 for a 46,000-square-foot expansion to Weatherford Regional Medical Center in Weatherford, Texas. Layton Construction Co., Inc. will construct the addition, which is expected to be complete in just 10 months.
The project includes finishing the second floor of the facility and adding a third floor vertically. The expansion will add 52 private patient rooms, eight critical care rooms, a cardiac catheterization lab and an enhanced endoscopy suite to the medical center. This expansion follows an addition in 2008 that added a new ICU, emergency room, radiology department, laboratory and pharmacy to the hospital.
"This expansion has been carefully planned to incorporate the types of medical services our community needs and will add private patient rooms and allow us to expand our services, as well," Cory Countryman, CEO of Weatherford Regional Medical Center, said in a news release.
