Cabela's, the World's Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear hired Layton to build three of their stores. The Boise, Idaho location was the first of the projects.

It was unique, as it was the first remodel done by Cabela’s. The project was a challenge, as Layton had to create a traditional Cabela’s showroom from a former Costco wholesale facility.

The Boise store features Cabela’s signature rustic log entrance with a green metal roof. The interior features aquariums stocked with fish indigenous to the area and a mountain showcase of wildlife. Other interior details include hardwood and tile floors, metal ceiling panels, wood wall paneling, stone columns and an assortment of hand crafted millwork and handrails.
