The Freeport West - Landmark facility consists of two office/warehouse buildings of approximately 473,000 ft2 each. Construction is slab on grade with concrete tilt panel walls. Building interiors have a clear height of approximately 35 feet for warehouse and racking space with tube steel columns that support a structural roof of metal bar joists and metal decking.
The buildings feature membrane roofs over rigid insulation along with 174 4’ X 8’ skylights that cover the joist and deck. Mechanical rooftop units are strategically placed to heat and cool the interior space. The exterior walls have elements of glass as accents on the concrete tilt panels at the center of the building and on each corner. There are 50 overhead doors and dock levelers spaced throughout the building to accommodate all types of future tenant requirements.
As general contractor, Layton oversaw all construction activity development at the site and the buildings. New underground utilities were installed including sewer, water, power and phone. The area immediately around the building consists of concrete truck dock aprons and asphalt parking spaces. The landscaping of the site incorporates many trees and shrubs to soften the immense size of the buildings. |
