West Valley City contracted with Layton to perform an addition and remodel of the existing Harman Senior Recreation and Community Center to accommodate the increased demand of city residents.

The facility includes five major halls for various activities, including lunch, bingo, singing, games and exercise classes. The largest hall, located on the first floor, is about 3,300 ft2 and includes a 600 ft2 elevated stage.

Because the facility remained operational during construction, Layton’s top priorities included minimizing disruptions to center activities and keeping visitors safe. Layton kept the existing facility clean and free from construction debris and provided signs directing the public away from construction dangers.
