Layton constructed the Moonbeam Day Lodge for Solitude Mountain Resort. The facility serves as a place for skiers and snowboarders to get warm, dine and purchase any gear needed. The building contains restrooms and lockers for public use.

This project broke ground in April of 2005, and had to be completed before Thanksgiving of this same year. To be completed in less than eight months, the project had an extremely tight schedule. Layton bought accelerated schedules from subcontractors for this project and tracked production rates daily to ensure on-time completion.

The spring of 2005 was one of the wettest springs in recent years, and the large amount of spring run-off that has run into the footprint of the building presented a challenge to construction. To deal with this problem, Layton has constructed large, temporary culverts to divert the flow of water away from the buildings.

Layton’s work on the Moonbeam Day Lodge as well as on previous projects, has earned us a reputation for quality, service and integrity with Solitude Mountain Resort.
