Primary Children’s Medical Center, a leading pediatric center serving five states in the Intermountain West, took ten years of planning and three years of construction to complete. The 232-bed medical facility is now a state of the art tertiary referral center encompassing technology and structure equal to the increasingly complex needs of the children.

The center has four levels above grade, basement housing parking, storage and space accommodating mechanical and electrical functions. The facility features a skylight spine down the middle of the building and a helipad on the roof for rapid patient access.

Modern cogeneration and heat recovery equipment, emergency generators and complex switching gears allow the building to be electrically self-sufficient if necessary. The project required road replacement and significant excavation.
