This project is a state-of-the-art 76 individual room neonatal intensive care unit that can accommodate up to 110 patients. Some of the rooms are specially equipped to handle multiple births. The project has been divided into two phases:

Phase I consisted of remodeling the old LDR/OB and C-Section areas to accommodate 33 NICU patient rooms (17,578 ft2). Phase I was completed and occupied before work on Phase II commenced.

Phase II included remodeling the existing NICU space and a build-out of the North Shell (new construction by Layton for Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center) areas to accommodate 43 additional NICU patient rooms (22,522 ft2).

Also included in the project are consult rooms, conference rooms, a pharmacy, respiratory therapy, a lab, a family waiting room with children's play area, a radiology area, a procedure room, and miscellaneous offices & work areas.
