OCIP experience
Layton has had extensive experience with OCIP projects and has worked on many large-scale projects utilizing OCIP programs.

OCIP projects require a specialized approach to the construction insuring process. Our project teams understand the need to adapt to each owners OCIP guidelines and requirements. Our teams are trained on project specific procedures to track losses and savings.

Additionally, each subcontractor is educated regarding the requirements for each specific OCIP project. Procedures required by the OCIP program are communicated to subcontractors on a continual basis. Before any subcontractor steps onto the project, they know the guidelines for on-site work and administrative reporting. This attention to detail means that Layton projects have higher productivity, fewer accidents and more efficient cost management.

MSHA / OSHA Training
All supervision, including foremen, superintendents, project managers, construction managers, senior project managers and executive vice presidents, complete the OSHA 10 Hour and/or MSHA 24 Hour New Miner training at hire or at promotion.

Once trained, our supervisors must also complete an annual open-book OSHA refresher test. To maintain their certifications, supervisors must score a 90 percent or better on this exam. Supervisors working on MSHA-controlled projects are required to take an MSHA 8 Hour refresher course. Quarterly Safety Performance Management trainings are also completed by supervisors.

Layton has trained MSHA/OSHA personnel who are certified and have met the requirements on the MSHA Form 5000-23. In addition to our in-house trained personnel, we have certified MSHA/OSHA trainers.
We understand that any construction personnel who come to the site must have the MSHA Form 5000-23 presented to us before they step foot on the property. Layton will maintain this requirement and will comply with all MSHA/OSHA safety requirements.

OSHA Partnerships
Layton has beneficial work partnerships with OSHA in Utah, Idaho and Nevada. To qualify for the partnerships, Layton has successfully demonstrated time and again that every worker on our projects, whether a Layton employee or not, meets or exceeds OSHA standards. Beyond the recognition alone, qualifying partners receive a reduced frequency of OSHA inspections. An added benefit of partnering with OSHA is that the partnership program is slowly becoming a benchmark for determining the quality of a contractor.
