Using the design-build process, Layton and GSBS Architects worked together to give the owner of The South Towne Exposition Center a creative design at maximum value.
The South Towne Exposition Center is a suburban convention center used primarily for regional trade and consumer shows.
The building is organized on a single level, with a 243,000 ft2 exhibit hall and 14,000 ft2 of meeting rooms. An additional 47,000 ft2 of public lobbies, concourses and pre-function spaces keep the facility visually exciting, people- friendly and easy to use.
By working with the design team throughout the project, Layton drastically increased the available exhibition space and completed the facility one month ahead of schedule. All of this was done while maintaining a $48 million budget |
